Alert – Burglary

Sometime between the evening of May 7th and 8:00 am on Monday, a unit in the 200 Bldg was burglarized. The member was not in the residence, and has been notified. The burglar broke the front door in to gain entry. Management called the Houston Police Department, who came to the property and conducted an investigation into the burglary.

Please make sure to report any suspicious activity you see on the property to Creative Management. (713) 772-4420

Just a reminder! No short-term rentals!

According to our Declaration of Condiminiums, we are not allowed to rent our units on a short-term basis. This means that owners and residents should not be listing any 3000 South Braeswood Condos on sites such as airbnb.com or homeaway.com. There are security concerns – strangers in and out of the property, gate codes being given out, etc. – as well as financial concerns – condo fees being directed towards damage by non-residents/non-owners, harder time selling or purchasing property due to short-term rentals, etc. Let’s all be good neighbors 🙂

Hurricane Preparedness – it’s that time, again!

Hurricane Season for the Houston area is June 1st through November 30th. Houstonians have some experience with Tropical Storms due to Tropical Storm Allison (2001) and hurricanes due to Hurricane Ike (2008) so we know we should take these types of storms very seriously.

A Tropical Storm or Hurricane WATCH means the storm is possible within your area in 48 hours.

A Tropical Storm or Hurricane WARNING means the storm is expected within your area in 36 hours.

Prepare an EMERGENCY KIT for the season:

  • Candles / extra Matches
  • Flashlights / Battery Operated Lantern
  • Extra Batteries
  • Non-Perishable Foods / also Pet Food
  • Paper Plates, Cups, Plastic Utensils
  • Bottled Water
  • Manual Can-Opener
  • Battery Powered Radio
  • First-Aid Kit
  • Ice Chest
  • Plastic Drop Cloths/Tarps

Above All:     Know Your Neighbors.  They are Your Best Resources.

Hurricane WATCH (Hurricane is possible)

  • Make sure your insurance is up-to-date.
  • Make an inventory of your possessions.
  • Place your personal info in a plastic baggie & keep where you can reach it quickly. Include credit card numbers you will need, phone numbers, insurance policy numbers, etc.  (You cannot purchase insurance once a storm has entered the Gulf.)
  • Make sure your emergency kit has the necessary items listed above.
  • Stay tuned to TV weather reports and Internet updates to keep informed.

Hurricane WARNING (Hurricane is expected)

  • Stay tuned to TV weather reports and Internet updates to keep informed.
  • Decide to stay or go – some areas have mandatory evacuations – know where they are.
  • Bring in pets and have a pet carrier ready if you decide to go.
  • Fill bathtubs with water to flush commodes, etc.
  • Fill other extra containers with water.
  • Fill your car with gas.
  • Have extra cash on hand – ATMs may not function for a while.
  • Make sure all prescriptions are filled, as pharmacies may not be able to reopen immediately.
  • Clear off patios and balconies, bringing in items that may become projectiles in heavy winds.

During the Hurricane

  • If you’re at home stay tuned to TV weather reports or on battery-operated radio. Stay calm.
  • Do not go outside for fear of flying objects, etc. Winds will be strong & rain may be heavy.
  • Remember when the eye of the storm is passing all will be quiet – but it is not over yet.

After the Hurricane

  • If you left home do not return until local authorities give the OK.
  • Do not drink water from faucets until cleared by local authorities.
  • Be careful going outside – watching for downed limbs, hanging electrical lines, snakes, etc.
  • Be patient. Clean up after a disaster can be a long process for the whole community.
